40 weeks | the waiting game . . .

my due date has arrived. physically i'm feeling good. better than i have this entire pregnancy. mentally, it feels like a constant battle. i'm trying hard to surrender. which is easier said than done. i know that this baby will come when it's ready. when the time is right. i just need to trust that my body knows best.
important lessons for the birth ahead. . .

  1. best wishes rachel! I hope all goes well - and soon! I had borrowed a bassinette for our daughter's arrival, she was in it for such a short time, but picked up a second hand one for my boys which looked just like the one pictured :) even though we are done with more babies, I can't let that bassinette go and it's serves its purpose now as the dress up basket x

    1. love it! the base was mine when i was a baby ... and my mum's as a baby before that. the bassinet, a hand-me-down from a mum at kindy. the original one, at almost 60 years old, was getting a bit tatty! xo

  6. Your bump is lovely. Both my kids were late and I remember that waiting game after the due date so well, trying to stay peaceful but feeling restless and so alert to any random back ache...

Take care, rest lots, and keep us posted! x

  14. Ive been thinking of you the past couple of weeks Rach. Bumped into your beautiful little family last week who said you were about ready to welcome your new family member. Maybe it will happen in the coming days - there's some stormy weather heading to town - time for some new sunshine to come into the world...

  24. Gosh, my first babe was induced at 41.5 weeks and that last 1.5 weeks were torture. Like you I felt physically well but I could not believe how challenging it was thinking every morning - it will happen today and every night feeling 24 hours had never been so long!! Can't wait to hear your news x
