we're planting peas and coriander and tuscan kale. when the tomatoes have finished we'll plant garlic in their place. we dug up a bucketful of potatoes (elliot thought it was like digging for treasure). we made a simple bench to sit on and have our morning tea. we removed the summer reticulation (maybe a little prematurely). there's always weeding to be done. we picked a couple of pumpkins. we'll leave the rest on the vine for a bit longer. the herbs are going crazy. sage, parsley, basil, thyme. we put some broccoli seeds in. i've ordered some sweet pea seeds. i'm hoping the teeny tiny asparagus plants that have popped up will make it. we have banana passionfruit coming out our ears. we'll get a couple more zucchini before i pull the plants up. there's a good amount of spinach and rainbow chard to be picked for breakfast. there's just the right mix of cool and sunny and damp. spending time in the garden is such a pleasure at this time of the year.
these random little garden posts have become rather valuable . i way i can refer back year to year and see what was happening when. what worked and what failed. when the best time is to plant, harvest, pull up. a way to add a bit more structure and logic to my typically random methods of growing things.
