we took a drive
grabbed a coffee and cake
picked up our house plans
fossicked in the secondhand mart
and stopped for raspberries on the way home

are catching up with me.
more than ever i need this space
to help me focus on the positive}

  1. I do love freshly picked raspberries and your op shop finds are very sweet indeed. I hope that you get some much needed rest soon. Take care xo

  2. I well remember what you're going through. Hang in there. I know this sounds terribly trite (and possibly even extremely annoying in your sleep-deprived state) but this time seriously does pass in the blink of an eye. Having said that, I tried to relish every moment blah blah but, frankly, could have done with far fewer of those moments all through the night! You'll get there...

  5. What a wonderful day that sounds! Is that an old tin there, with the wonderful cross stitch printed on it? It's beautiful.

    Good luck with the all night feeding. I'm going to sound trite too, but remember, this too shall pass. I used to blame those phases on a 'growth spurt', but would remind myself too that it was my milk that was making him grow and be strong.

    Take some time each day to yourself, even just to have an uninterrupted shower. I found it really helped. :)

  6. Hello I have really been loving your blog for awhile now. Just wanted to say hello and to say I can empathise so much with how you might be feeling. My little man is nearly 14 months and only just now have I been able to gently have a stretch of no feeds from bed to now 5.30 am. It can be so exhausting that constant suckling I just had to make a change to transition him to his own bed. I felt so many mixed messages in my head. It is such a wonderful thing although at times you do wonder where you siphon this energy from.

    Take care

  9. I've found that laying on a picnic blanket in a park, chatting to good friends while children climb trees, chase seagulls and build leaf huts also helps.
