I've been wrestling with the crochet hook for a few months now.
Trying to master these very simple dish scrubbers.
I'm slow and all thumbs. Churning out weird wonky edged shapes with gaping holes.
I tried an online tutorial. Then a lesson from my gran. She was very patient.
After six attempts, I think I'm getting there. Finally.
... and the all reject scrubbers work just as well in the sink!
See what creative things others are up to over here.

Love this pic. Been meaning to join in but too forgetful/lazy/disorganised.
ReplyDeleteit's great you have it sorted, the crochet thing that is...I have tried soooo many times to do a granny and am now convinced I am the only person on the planet who just doesn't get it!!
ReplyDeleteyour photo of your work shows such a calm quiet space ~ way to persevere with the needles
ReplyDeleteAt least you didn't give up. I'm sure the dishes won't notice the wonky edges ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's very satisfying when crochet starts to look right, isn't it! The cloths in your pic look lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly the same, Rachel! It's harder than it looks, isn't it? Good on you for persisting... I must pick up that crochet hook again... K
ReplyDeleteWell I'd be very happy to divest you of any of the wonky cloths you don't want... they look gorgeous! And as you say they work just as well.
ReplyDelete10 points to you for perserverance! Wonky or not, that cloth is beautiful and I am sure makes washing up just that little bit more pleasant.
ReplyDeleteThis shot is beautiful & I think your cloth looks pretty darn fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYour dishcloth looks just "dishy!" :)I've been knitting a mountain of cotton dishcloths. The "duds" (ie those where I run out of the colour cotton I'm using before I finish) end up in our sink, and you're right....they do work just as well. Thanks for sharing. Anita. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely photo ~ and well done for not giving up. I thought about trying crochet but haven't had the nerve! I think the cloths are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteThey look completely perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteAs a non crocheter that washer looks fantastic in my eyes. Just perfect for washing up after the Tart!! I am so glad you are enjoying it!! Thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of yarn did you use to crochet the dish scrubbers?
ReplyDeleteWell done for keeping on trying! Lucky you to have gran to help, much more special than online learning!!
ReplyDeleteWell they look beautiful to me and I'll bet they work beautifully too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo. Wonky or not, I am sure the scrubbers work really well. Good on you for perservering.
