my creative space

Remember the baby boy outfit I made back here?

Here’s the girl version.

I tend not to dress The Little One in too much pink.
But I think when they are teeny tiny hairless bundles, it helps to avoid some of those awkward “actually it’s a she” conversations.

The yo-yo takes me about three minutes to whip up.
Then I spend half an hour digging through my button tin trying to find the perfect combo. Too spoilt for choice.

What's your favourite baby gift to make?

  2. Delicious. I can not tell a lie, Petal and I are both rather partial to a touch of pink.

  3. Gorgeous little outfit. I have one of those yo-yo makers, but have never been sure what to do this them. I have just finished making two baby wraps for recent newborns, love them and they are quite unique.

  8. It looks lovely - I feel the same way. Unfortunately, even with pink on my little girl got the "he" questions... people are funny! I think I let the pink get out of control, though... my youngest's first full sentence was "Mummy, I don't like pink!" :) K

  9. I love to crochet something useful. My last baby present was a blanket, and the one before that was a cardigan. I love the little yo-yo!

  10. Very sweet. I've been trying to figure out a present that I could make for new bubs but haven't really hit on one yet. You've got me thinking...

  11. Cute :-) Baby shoes are my current baby gift of choice!

Pink doesn't necessarily remove those difficult moments - We've had some vomit worthy pink outfits happening at times (I'm not a fan of pink, mostly) and still get asked "how old is he?" Grrr. Of COURSE she's a girl. We, at least, think it's obvious ;-)

  15. Very cute! Bright play mats are my favourite baby gift - they can be used for all sorts of things, in addition to play!

  16. That's so sweet! I almost always make a nice, oversized, quishy baby blanket, usually knit but sometimes crochet. People always tell me later that my blankets are their favorite because they're so nice for putting baby down on the floor.
