update. . .

never doubt that a small group
of thoughtful committed citizens
can change the world.
indeed, it's the only thing
that ever has.

thank you all
for sharing my concern
about what's happening
at james price point

there are a band of people
working hard on the front line
to save this last great wilderness
from short-sighted industrialisation

you can read more
about what they are up to at

and thanks to these girls
for helping to spread the word
and raise awareness

there is hope

once upon a time. . .

we used to camp
atop those red pindan cliffs
and climb down their rugged face
to swim in the blue green water

we'd cook our dinner
over the hot campfire
while we watched
the sun melt into the ocean

a place where humpbacks passed
and dugongs fed
true untouched wilderness
a magical place

an ancient land
rich in mythology
with shell middens and burial grounds
where song lines cross

this is walmadan
this is james price point
this is country

Only after the last tree has been cut down.
Only after the last river has been poisoned.
Only after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten
