bringing home the tree . . .

around here, it's been all about the tree. the fairy lights. the decorations. christmas music playing. christmas stockings hanging. festive books to read. i think we'll have to make some fruit mince pies this week. my girl has been begging to get 'the christmas box' down for weeks now. she's in heaven today.

  1. the "christmas box" I remember that from my own childhood. Before we were old enough to get the stool and bring it all down we had to wait for our parents. And it was painful especially when it didn't all come down as quickly as we would like! I often wonder what christmas with children would be like xoxox

  2. I love your tree Rachel and your photos. Fruit mince pies sound like a great idea.

I think most of us remember the Christmas box, I can still smell it from my childhood. I think it was the plastic tree that had the distinctive smell! PS sourdough wood oven fail today...fire too hot and cook too impatient. Trail and error?!

  3. Great photos Rachel - it's such an exciting time of year. I'm going pinecone hunting tomorrow. We are going to make some decorations - I remember sticking glue and glitter on these as a child x

  5. A Christmas box is a sweet idea. Might have to hijack that tradition!

  6. A tree! I could not muster up the energy to get a real one- closest place is quite far with a big bump taking my energy. So we settled for artificial, but there is NOTHING like a real tree. Happy Christmas prepping to you. Xx
