in the garden. . .

the beans reach skywards
right before our very eyes

the basil seems to be struggling
and so too the carrots

there are all sorts of berries
we'll be feasting on soon

we've harvested the first of the zucchinis
and there are plenty more to come

we've been mulching with straw
straight from the chook pen

cabbage moths feast on the mizuna
and my boy on the broad beans

the tomatoes are off to a slow start
and not look as good as last season

we're weeding and watering daily
and there's always more to be done

we have a renewed sense of enthusiasm
after a visit from the experts

how are things looking
in your garden?

  2. Your garden looks like it's powering along. I love the Jack and the Beanstalk photo of your beans. fantastic! my garden is in my mind at the mind - and a little bit on paper. I'm planning the new one and excited about it all but I'm really missing my garden in the purple nest right now. It would be at it's very best.
That little gnome is cute too!

  4. Ooh I have a serious case of garden envy happening :) After months of procrastinating we finally started our garden this weekend...I have no idea if it's too late in the season (green thumb I am not) but we'll learn by trial and error.
You are so lucky to have had Kate pop by!!

  5. It must be that it is warmer your way. Your garden is looking GREAT!

Mine just seems to slow down once I put the seedlings out in the garden - grrrr some of the seedlings are seeming to just collapse when they get almost big enough to be transplanted.

Or snails go on a spree

mainly they seem to be growing so slowly. ARGH

I hope some of the more mature seedlings get is ahead...

    I am NOT giving up!
