my creative space

There's a lot that appeals about the Amish way of life.

The approach to self-reliance.

The plain style of dress.

Simple crafting from scraps.

The pure simplicity.

Even their preference for birthing at home...

The Little One has become attached to this Amish Doll,
which she found at her Nanny's house this week.

She's lovely, don't you think?

Now I'm attempting to make one too,
for a certain little cousin who turns one next month.

See what's happening in other creative spaces over here.

  1. Ah, I live very close to "Amish country" and have seen a lot of those dolls, even in my own home growing up! They're sweet, aren't they?

  3. ah, what a sweet thing to make. I like the simple life too but the fundamentalism of thier religion might just stop me day dreaming too much about thier exact method of living ;O)

  9. Yep to all of the Amish way of life appeal. The doll is beautiful and can be anything a kid wants/needs her to be.
