The typically gentle pace of our days has been shaken up lately. As one would expect when you attempt to pack up your life in the mad weeks before Christmas.
So The Little One and I decided to take an impromptu trip. A visit with Nanny and Poppy. A few days at The Convent. The bastion of put-your-feet-up and relax.
We travelled light. Cranked up The Waifs. Watched the outside temperature climb higher and higher as we drove further north. Until it reached 40 degrees, where it hovered for the duration of our stay.
We ventured out to visit family, enjoyed morning tea with cousins, a poke around the old family farm and a fossick in a junk shop. But for the most part our days were consumed by newspapers, day sleeps and cups of tea. Just what we needed.
