once upon a time. . .

we used to camp
atop those red pindan cliffs
and climb down their rugged face
to swim in the blue green water

we'd cook our dinner
over the hot campfire
while we watched
the sun melt into the ocean

a place where humpbacks passed
and dugongs fed
true untouched wilderness
a magical place

an ancient land
rich in mythology
with shell middens and burial grounds
where song lines cross

Only after the last tree has been cut down.
Only after the last river has been poisoned.
Only after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten

  1. How utterly heartbreaking :(

  2. What a tragedy. Wouldn't you love to meet the person who signed off on that deal. Have you seen what the Brazilian Govt is doing in the Amazon? What will be left for our children and their children to explore. Jx

  3. that is so sad, thank you for bringing it to my attention.. The cliffs are such a beautiful beautiful colour. xo

  4. Totally shocking!!

  5. Now that is disgusting!!!!!!

How on Earth can people consent to things like this happening???

  6. This is so very sad, why can't they leave our beautiful land to be enjoyed for our children? xo

  7. this breaks my heart. the greedy so-and-sos x

  8. so sad. this is happening all too often on our gorgeous planet.

  9. Nothing surprises me anymore, obviously there is money to be had.

  10. It makes me sick how big corporations and government actually want to harm us and our environment.
